GO Baby Review & Giveaway!! CLOSED!

I had so much fun doing this next review! When the kind people over at Accuquilt offered to send me their GO! Baby Fabric Cutter, they also offered 3 Fabric Cutting dies to go with it to try out.

I really labored over which dies to choose...there are so many! Which 3 did I think would be the best to work with for my first time, that would go the furthest with what I usually sew, and am looking to make right now?

You already saw my whimsical choice in the Gingham Dog review, this is my practical choice...one of their strip cutters. They have different sizes, and I went with the 2.5" one.

Can we say binding anyone?! With my love for making homemade bias tape and binding, I knew this Baby had the potential to really come in handy...and I am sooooooo glad I went with it!

I don't know about you, but making your own bias tape can be a pain...cutting all the different strips out on the bias over and over again, until you have the amount you need. Especially since my cutting mat has only 1 diagonal line to work with, so I am constantly moving the fabric over and realigning it for each cut.

With that in mind, I was very eager to try the GO! Baby Strip Cutter die...

Being short on time with the newborn, I really wasn't very precise at all in doing this. And as it turned out, that wasn't a problem at all! Woo Hoo!

I simply plopped the fabric down on the cutter at what appeared to be a 45 degree angle, and folded it back over on itself. Put the plastic cover on it, and rolled it on through. I had about 8 pieces of fabric going through at once, for 16 strips, all the same precise 2.5" wide! It cut through without a problem, and I can't even begin to tell you how much time this saved me!

To turn this into Single Fold Bias Tape...

I simply sewed the strips together at the ends, right sides together, and trimmed the seam allowance. Then all you have to do is fold it in half lengthwise and Press! And Voila! I instantly have yards and yards of Bias Tape to complete any project with machine perfect homemade fabric binding!

But I didn't stop there...I also fell in love with one of the Free Patterns they give away over at their site, and simply had to try out their GO! Strip Pizzazz Quilt Pattern.

Okay, so as it turns out, making Quilts still is not for me. But turning them into awesome totes is!!!

To make a Tote similar to this one, simply make 8 Pizzazz Squares (2 rows of 4 squares each), and follow along with a simple Tote Tutorial like the one found HERE.

Okay, enough, enough about how awesome the GO! Baby Fabric Cutter is...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
